Japanese Knot Weed
Introduced to Britain as an ornamental garden plant, this plant is common in Japan and throughout Asia but does not cause the amount of problems there that it does here, in its native environment it is controlled by insects and plant diseases. Here though, it is not kept in check by nature and is known as the most invasive ‘Super Weed’ in the UK!
Japanese knotweed falls under the classification of a controlled waste and it is therefore essential it is removed safely and disposed of properly at an appropriately licensed waste facility.
